Program Information

While many national and public organizations in Asia strive to solve political and economic issues to revive the arts scene, independent artists and companies became the catalyst to make local networks and stay connected in creative ways during the pandemic. We will hear from three independent artists who act beyond their roles and hear their experience of weaving the local scene to other Asian regions to create a cultural identity and connections from south to east, and east to south.

SFAC(Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture)
The Seoul Foundation for Arts & Culture was founded in March 2004 to enhance the lives of citizens through cultural activities and arts, and foster Seoul's international competitiveness. SFAC strives to cultivate culturally diverse Seoul through its support of creative cultural projects, such as supporting artists and citizens'' creative work, participating in international cultural exchanges, providing cultural and artistic education, and organizing festivals and programs. Seoul Dance Center, one of the creation and residency center of SFAC will host a roundtable discussion and networking event to introduce overview of dance markets in Seoul and beyond.

Program Information

KAMS Connection is an international research development program for supporting performing arts professionals from the research stage through to the project development stage with the aim of developing international, collaborative projects, based on reciprocal cooperation with international partners. Nordic-Korea Connection started from 2019 under the theme of ‘Arts and Disability’, ‘Arts and Technology’ in 2020-21 and ‘Arts and Ageing’ in 2022.

In this round table, 8 artists from Nordic countries and Korea question and discuss about in what way does ‘ageing’ exist in contemporary art? what will be the role of arts in ageing society and what is creative ageing to an artis?

The Creative Platform for ASEAN-Korea is a new platform for human connection, sharing knowledge, information and experiences and a long-term development between ASEAN and Korea supported by Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange.

At this round table, ASEAN and Korean colleagues’ question and ask; what are the new realities the Pandemic left us, what we have to rethink and transform and what will be new & different ways of international exchanges between ASEAN and North East Asia.

Program Information

In cooperation with the PAMS, KOPIS(Korean Performing Arts Box Office Information System) will present the analyzed data on “support and status of international touring” by collecting information from the Center Stage Korea grant and will introduce the cases of data analysis for tracking the international activities by oversea organizations. Also, the Korean international funding organizations will briefly introduce the accumulated data on supporting international activities for performing arts and talk about necessary data for creating the status of Korean performing arts abroad and ways to revitalize data for supporting oversea expansions.
